World Oral Health Day
August 31st, 2015 General,
World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is celebrated every year on 20 March. It is an international day to raise awareness about issues surrounding oral health and the importance of oral hygiene in looking after everyone, old and young. In 2016, the focus is the impact your oral health has on your overall physical health: Healthy mouth, Healthy body.
With this in mind, we are aware that each individual's perception of a healthy mouth is dependent upon what we learn growing up. Because of this, The Dental Project have decided to start from the beginning, and aim to educate young children on how keep these teeth for their lifetime. At The Dental Project we have a strong emphasis on prevention with the incorporation of our Oral Health Therapists Ellke and Carol. These ladies place a high priority in reinforcing correct oral hygiene and have recently started visiting various day care centres in the area.
In celebration of WOHD, we will be opening our doors for all children under the age of 5 for a free check up on the 18th March, by appointment only. This will be a great opportunity to educate parents as well, because we believe implementing a healthy routine from the earliest possible age is the best way to ensure long term healthy smiles. Please call to secure your spot immediately as spaces are limited, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
